Overview
A detailed step by step installation of NRG/SPECTRE/SUMMIT(or similar) security hood locks on a Honda Civic with a stock hood. (not reccomended for carbon fiber or fiberglass hoods)

Tools required
Razor blade
Uni-bit drill bit (reccomended)
Tapered punch
1/4" metal hole saw
23mm socket
Adjustable wrench
Various drill bit sizes

Step 1
For this install I chose to utilize the stock bumpstop locations for the hood as a starting point for this install. The idea is to bore out the center of the bump stop so we can run our hood lock shaft through it. Starting with a small bit and moving progressively larger to accomodate the shaft. We also cut off the top half of the bumpstop portion. (see pictures)

Step 2
Next were going to locate where the bumpstop rests, mark it's center, punch a starting divot, and drill our pilot hole.

Step 3
From this point we will use the hole say to cutout the hole in the hood support skeleton. Also we will put in our new modified bumpstop to prepare makring the hood skin itself to be drilled.

Step 4
Now you can use several methods to mark the hood but this is the method I chose. I put some tape on the head of the lock shaft, cut around it, flipped it over, and closed the hood. Basically the tape transfers to the hood to mark the shaft location. From there we punch a divot and drill a pilot hole.

Step 5
From here we simply use a uni-bit and drill the hood to a 3/4" hole.

Finishing Up
All thats left to do now is to drop in the locking mechanism, tighten the 23mm nut, adjust the height of the locking shaft, and close the hood. If you follow these steps and dont run into any problems such as dropping the nut into the hood support skeleton (PITA), you should be able to install both locks a about 2 or 3 hours.
